“Is Today the Day?” is a simple narrative, suitable for young readers, which explores aspects of belonging.

I loved how Suzanne takes the young reader on a journey that evokes empathy with the main character as they navigate a range of feelings and situations along his journey.

The text seamlessly demonstrates, and inspires, a range of emotions such as hope, patience, resilience, acceptance, love and belonging.

This book will easily appeal to young readers with its combination of a descriptive narrative and creative elements of visual literacy, including a couple of repeated motifs.

I hope today is the day that you discover this beautifully crafted children’s book.

Reading Is Today The Day by Suzanne Louise Green honestly melted my heart in the softest way possible.

From the very first page I felt this gentle sadness for the little white puppy who is just waiting and hoping for a family to love him.

The story is simple, but that’s what makes it so powerful. You can feel the puppy’s longing in such a pure and innocent way, and it really made me pause and think about how much love and belonging matters - even in the smallest lives. I found myself quietly rooting for him the whole time, wondering if today would finally be his day.

What I love most is how emotional yet comforting the book feels. It’s not overwhelming - it’s soft, warm, and full of hope. The message about patience, love, and finding where you truly belong is so beautifully expressed, especially for younger readers.

This book is perfect for children, but honestly, it touched my heart as an adult too. It reminds you that everyone deserves love and a place to call home. Such a tender and heart warming read.

“Is Today the Day?” was welcomed into our household by two little girls, my granddaughters.

A beautiful story illustrated and written in words the little girls understood.

A book which children would find easy to read and thoroughly enjoy.

Not only a story for bedtime but anytime. They loved it.
